A Brunch Worth Waiting For - EGGBREAK, London
Another weekend, another brunch. Living in Notting Hill we are absolutely spoilt for choice with restaurants and I’m going to try my absolute best to go to as many as I can.
This weekend myself, Saoirse and Natalie organized a girls brunch to Egg Break, Notting hill.
Before I get into this post, I just want to say I’ll never do a blog post about somewhere that I don't like. Brunch is one of my favourite meals and I take it very seriously. I also find that in London there are so many “instagramable cafes” when actually the food can be fairly average but in this case we were very pleased.
Located down a small side street surrounded by colourful houses in Notting Hill you will find EggBreak. From the outside it looks absolutely tiny but you'll find once you enter it's a lot bigger than it looks. The interior is quite minimal but very cosy. It has the warmest feeling when you walk in and such a busy atmosphere which is what I expected for a Saturday afternoon.
We waited 45 mins for a table, unfortunately they don't take reservations (like a lot of places in London). I'd say if you went early you would get a table no problem, but I have yet to test that theory.
Me and Saoirse wanted a savoury and a sweet dish so we decided to share both. We got the Lucky Peach's salt beef hash with sautéed potatoes, chilli, spring onion, peppers, fried eggs and sourdough which was delicious but overall the eggs were just incredible, like I expected. Such a tasty dish and perfect for dipping the fresh sourdough into.
The highlight was definitely the Cornflake French toast with caramelised banana, blueberries and brown butter maple syrup and yes, it tasted as good as it sounds. It was nice to try the 2 different dishes especially as I could never finish the French toast on my own.
The staff were lovely and the food came out quick but unfortunately the coffee was only Luke warm, I'll put that down to it being so busy though.
Such a lovely way to spend a miserable, rainy Saturday afternoon in a cosy restaurant, I'll definitely be back soon with Evan as I know he will love it!
I hope everyone has a lovely week and if you have a moment I would love your vote for The Beauty Blog Awards. I know I sound like a broken record but it's almost over, I promise!
Also thank you so much for all the support so far, I'm so touched by all your lovely messages.
