Fairy Lights & Cookie Dough - Megan's Fulham
Yesterday was a very exciting day. It started off like any other Thursday but ended up being a small celebration. As some of you may know, I made it to the long list for the Beauty Blog Awards, which I'm delighted with especially since I look up to so many of the other nominees. On Thursday the short list was revealed and I was shocked to say the least that I made the short list. Seriously, I think this is up there with one of my top 5 'Pinch me moments'.
After work I was invited to eat in Megan's in Fulham for dinner, which was a nice treat after getting some good news. I've read about Megan's before moving to London and I remember seeing a photo of Louise Thompson (from MIC) eating their famous cookie dough so I was very eager to try out the popular restaurant.
First of all the restaurant is so romantic, every inch of the walls is covered in pretty fairy lights and homely decorations. You feel as if you're outside, with wooden decking and outdoor heaters which is so nice especially for winter when you miss dining al fresco.
I'm still not sure what type of food they specialize in but whatever it is, I love it. We shared two starters, Calamari and Prawns Pil-Pil which is an absolute favourite of mine since I was a child. The starters were incredible and the Pil-Pil was definitely my favourite, generous sized prawns, plenty of garlic and toasted sour dough for dipping.
I was excited to try the mains because the pictures on Instagram looked amazing plus, I've never tried anything like this before and I love trying new foods. I went for the deconstructed prawn and chorizo kebab in a spicy tomato shakshouka with flatbread. It was definitely very different to anything I've had before and it was delicious. If you're into spicy food, you'll definitely enjoy it here.
Finally the dessert I've been waiting for and yes, it was worth the wait. We were both so full but how could you turn down Half baked nutella cookie dough with salted caramel ice cream?
Overall, I was really impressed with the restaurant and I loved trying food I never had before. I'll definitely be coming back again for dinner especially on a Monday as you can bring your own wine for 1 pound corkage, what a bargain?!
You can also book a private room for parties or a group events which would be great for a girly night or if you have a Birthday coming up.
I hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you have a spare minute I would really appreciate your vote for the Beauty Blog Awards.
I'm nominated for Best Fashion Influencer, Best Newcomer, Best Vlog and Overall best Influencer, you can vote HERE.
