What Happened the Night of The Aussie Blog Awards?
I thought it would be nice to share with you what happened on the night of the Aussie Blog Awards as it was a huge highlight of my life and wouldn't have been possible without the support of my amazing family, friends and incredible followers. I know it was more than a month ago but I suppose better late than never?
I was absolutely shocked when I found out 2 weeks before the night took place that I was nominated for Best Newcomer. I've been blogging for little over a year now and I'm still learning how this game works so it was a complete shock to me that I was being recognised.
It took place last month, April 2018 in House on Lesson Street. It was such a fab night with Vogue Williams on the decks, Summer fruit cocktails, an Aussie Hair styling station and of course Her.ie hosting and recording every second of the night (you can watch the video here).
A few people on the night asked me was I nervous and of course, I was. I didn't expect a thing but it still made me so anxious to be attending as a nominee.
Anyway, the awards began and ended in a second, I can honestly say it felt like a dream. I won the category for 'Best Newcomer', which was a shock in itself and an even bigger surprise they called my name for 'The Overall Most Aussome Blog' (which I didn't know I could be included for). It was the most surreal moment in my life. To be completely honest over the past few years I've really struggled to find something I'm passionate about so this really means the world to me. Blogging is something I have a genuine passion for and it's the only thing I feel I'm genuinely good at. I know I have so much more to give and I'm SO motivated to keep working to create bigger and better things.
The prize for winning the Overall Most Aussome Blog is a trip to Australia which I plan on going on next January. I wish I could go sooner but its going into their winter now, plus it will be nice to get some sun after Christmas.
With all the other AMAZING winners of the night. I've looked up to so many of these girls including all the nominees so it was such an honour to even be in the same room as them.
If it wasn't for Evan I wouldn't be holding this award. He has so much patience for me and my blog. He takes most of my pictures and has supported me since day one.
Finally, I just want to say a massive, massive thank you to anyone who follows me whether you've stood by me since day one or maybe you're a new follower, I honestly appreciate it so much. If I could do this blogging stuff full-time I would but who knows that could happen for me in the future.
Besos,
Zoë Elizabeth
