For the Sweet Tooth - NYC

The first thing I did after booking my trip to New York was make a list of places to see and more importantly, places to eat. I get so carried away when it comes to planning trips that I always over plan. We stayed for just over 5 days and ate our way through the city. I wish we had more time as there is so much left on my list but at least this gives us an excuse to go back.

So this blog post is for those with a sweet tooth. New York is on another level when it comes to desserts and sweet things so here's my top picks;

1. SERENDIPITY

225 E 60th St, New York, NY 10022

It was New York’s first coffee house boutique, you'll recognise the restaurant from so many movie scenes like the movie Serendipity or where I saw it first was on an episode of The Kardashians. My friend, Saoirse planned this one so I didn't know what to expect. As soon as we arrived, we could tell it was a popular place as the queue was out the door. We waited for about 20 mins but it was definitely worth it.

It's famously known for its frozen hot chocolate, which is definitely enough for 2 people. I tried to convince Saoirse to get 2 but one was definitely enough.

The decor is very olde-worlde, you almost feel like you're on a movie set.

 2. SPRINKLES CUPCAKES

780 Lexington Ave, New York, NY 10065

Sprinkles is considered one of the first cupcake bakeries so you know you're going to have one of the best cupcakes of your life.

 This place has been on my bucket list for years and it did not disappoint. They have so many different flavours it was so hard to choose. Of course, I went for their signature cupcake, red velvet.

They are honestly the most perfect cupcakes I've ever had, especially if you like lots of buttery icing. They have an ice-cream parlour next door and if you're just passing by you can grab a cupcake from their Cupcake ATM! God I love America.

3. MOMOFUKU MILK BAR

 251 E 13th St, New York, NY 10003

Milk Bar is where you want your Birthday cake to be made if you're living in NYC. You can customise your own Birthday/wedding cake, they even have their own line of baking mixes.

Milk Bar was another pick from Saoirse. The girl is honestly the best person to travel with not only is she the best craic but she knows all the best places to eat and drink and most of all she knows how to use the Subway, I would have been lost without her.

I heard about the birthday cake truffles so I was really excited to try them. I may have gotten a bit carried away, I ordered a birthday cake latte and the truffles which is vanilla rainbow cake mixed with vanilla infused milk, coated with white chocolate and rolled in rainbow cake crumbs... so good.

 Well I hope this gives anyone going or living in NYC some inspiration. There was so many other places I wanted to go to like The Magnolia Bakery, Quality Eats, Cha Cha Matcha and Pietro Nolita. I suppose I'll have to make a trip back very soon.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post, you can subscribe if you don't want to miss out on anything!
