Same but Different
Everyone has always said that me and jess look so alike. I think when you grow up with someone you never see any similarities especially when you know how different each other really are. Jess is my younger sister but I like to think of her as my older sister because she is a lot stronger than I could ever be. She has her own mind and does what she wants, that's one of reasons I look up to her. She doesn't try to impress anyone, she really is her own person.
Do we get along? You could say we disagree on a lot of things, like all siblings. I would say the reason being is that we're so different. We are complete opposites when it comes to style. Jess is very girly, she lives in white, whereas I live in black. You could say this avoids a lot of arguing over clothes. We still share clothes of course but we definitely find a way of making it our own style.
When we were younger there were these Brats Dollz (yes, Brats with a 'z') and they did a set of twins. One twin had more of a tom-boy style whereas the other was a complete princess. We actually got them one year and there wasn't even a question of who got which doll, we both knew where we stood when it came to fashion.
All our life we've grown up in a small town called Tramore, apart from a few short years in Kilkenny where we were born. I feel very lucky to have grown up in such a lovely part of Ireland. We have the best childhood memories spending our summers on the beach just minutes from our house.
Since as long as I can remember we've had completely different interests. As kids Jess loved being outdoors and still does, I've only started to like it as i've grown up. I was obsessed with cats growing up (I know it sounds creepy) and Jess loved dogs. It's like we wanted to be different.
Since college we haven't really lived together, apart from that one time she moved to Madrid and lived with me for a whole summer. I love having her around although I may be the messiest person ever and she's the complete opposite.
You're probably wondering who's the funnier one? It kills me to say this but she is hands down the funnier sister. She doesn't even have to try. If I had to say the best memory I have of us so far, it would have to be going on holidays when we were younger to Malaga to our Grandparents place. We would spend hours in the pool until our skin went all wrinkly.
I think we would both like to end up in a hotter climate, we're obsessed with the sun.
Although we may be completely different we still want a lot of the same things in life. We both think about the future a lot, we're extremely motivated. If there's one thing we have in common it's working really hard for what we want.
I am very lucky to have a little (big) sister who's also my best friend. I really hope I haven't been too embarrassing in this blog post. And thank you so much to Neal Byrne for putting up with the two of us, we loved working with you again.
Well I hope you liked this post. Let me know what you think!
Besos,
Zoë Elizabeth
