Weekends are made for Brunch
When I lived in Madrid, finding new restaurants was something I loved to do. Especially since Madrid was unknown to me, it was so much fun to find hidden gems.
Since being back in Dublin i've made no effort whatsoever to discover new places. I usually stick to my regulars in the city centre and never really venture out. This is mainly because I felt I knew everything Dublin had to offer.
I'm clearly showing my country side now but I was proven wrong today that there is so much more outside of the city. I felt like I was in London, surrounded by the cute townhouses and cool cafes on every street.
Today myself and my friend, Emma decided to go to Angelina's in Dublin just off Baggot Street
(her idea - thank you Emma!) and it is definitely my new favourite brunch spot. They do lunch and dinner too, which i'm sure i'll love, so that's tbc.
The restaurant from the outside doesn't look like much but you'll be pleasantly surprised when you walk in. It's absolutely stunning. I honestly didn't feel like I was in Dublin City anymore. One side of the restaurant has glass windows to show off the river canal running down and an amazing outdoor area which i'm sure is to die for in the summer.
The interior reminded me of the restaurants I went to in Madrid, modern and trendy. I think one of my favourite things about the restaurant was that every table had a bottle of Olive oil on the table. I miss that so much from living in Spain.
You're probably wondering about the food? Well, it was so hard to choose something from the menu as I wanted everything (standard). I went for the sourdough bread, crushed avocado, streaky bacon and pouched eggs. It was sooo tasty. Although I did see the pancakes come out later on for the table beside me and I have never felt more jealous in my life, so i'm going to have to go back asap.
Everything about the restaurant was cool, from small rose gold pots, to random trees inside. The interior is almost as satisfying as the food.
Seriously if you're looking for somewhere new in Dublin, definitely try Angelina's. It's such a treat, i'll be back for certain to try the pancakes and of course the cocktail menu. Skinny for summer here I come!!
Hope everyone had a lovely weekend!
