Winter Layers
As a kid I hated wearing layers. However my mum would send me off to school looking like a marshmallow, she's always ahead of the times when it comes to fashion.
Now layering is a trend, but not the same way I remember. Instead of 3 vests and a long sleeved t-shirt, we follow a trend of layering shirts, knits, denim and faux fur.
You'll probably agree that the main benefit of having layers is for warmth and comfort, but of course style plays a big part like in any outfit.
For me, I think the best way to layer is with pieces that you usually wouldn't put together, in other words avoid matching. You want to achieve an effortless look.
A great way to add to a layered outfit is a scarf. A thick knit can be ideal or a simple silk scarf. I tend to go for a silk scarf if i'm wearing fur, just because it can look too bulky.
Finally, since I wear a lot of black, I try to mix up textures to break it up. Polished leather is my fav at the moment, as you can probably tell from my boots and bag.
Anyway I hope everyone is having a lovely weekend. I've posted outfit details below!
