Crisp Winter Whites

I know it may not be the most practical item in my winter wardrobe, but it's most definitely the brightest thing I wear in winter - Crisp Winter Shirts.

I've always been cautious with white shirts as I really don't want them to look like i'm going to the office, so styling them is key for me.

With that in mind, i've come up with my Top Tips for wearing white shirts in winter:

(1) Cuffs rolled up - Always (except bell sleeves). This way you can show off accessories on your wrists and add minimal detail.

(2) Choker - this will make your outfit look less serious, and a lot more stylish.

(3) One side tucked in - especially with long shirts, this is a great way to show off your figure as long shirts can be terrible for drowning you out. And also a great way to show off your belt! (River Island).

(4) Cleavage -A unbuttoned shirt is the perfect opportunity to show off lace bras. I like to keep it simple with black as colour can distract from the shirt.

(5) Red nails - Completely inspired by Olivia Palermo (style icon, above). This should be the only bright colour in your outfit if you really want black and white to really pop.

(6) Fake tan - Avoid excess fake tan, there's nothing worse than visible tan marks on your shirt.

(7) YES to ruffles - The bigger the better.

(8) Don't try and match shades - this means if you're wearing a white shirt, don't match it with a white skirt or white skinnys. The shirt is the key piece so don't steal its limelight.

These are just a few of my rules, but everyone's different and I mean rules are made to be broken, so be adventurous too! But remember you're emphasising the shirt so avoid taking the attention away from it with loud, colourful accessories.

Hope you enjoyed reading my post. And don't be shy to share your own tips with me!

Besos,

Zoë Elizabeth

P.S. All my shirts above are from Zara!
